Hours can be spent searching for the optimal tool, quote, or answer in text, at the library, and on the internet. Included in an academic's writing toolbox is crafting reviews for books, journals, and journal articles. Following is a short alphabetical list of online tools for how-to that may be helpful.
Looking at previously published book and/or journal article reviews is helpful for real-world examples. Consider the Journal of Faith and the Academy published by Faulkner University. The Journal of Veterans Studies is another example with style guide posted on the website. Sometimes things can come together on short notice and, well, sometimes they don't. I'm sure everyone is busy writing and reading, reading, reading.
